Model overview

What is Seedance?

A video model family designed to turn creative direction into coherent motion.

Seedance is ByteDance's family of AI video generation models. The series began with a focus on prompt following, stable motion and native multi-shot storytelling, then expanded into synchronized audio-video generation and multimodal reference workflows.

Depending on the version, creators can guide a video with text, still images and other reference media. The goal is not simply to animate a frame, but to direct subjects, actions, camera movement, visual style and narrative flow with greater control.

Coherent multi-shot stories
Build clips with connected shots while maintaining a more consistent subject, style and atmosphere across transitions.
Dynamic, stable motion
Create expressive movement—from subtle facial action to sports, camera moves and multi-subject scenes—with a focus on temporal stability.
Multimodal creative control
Newer Seedance models can use combinations of text, images, video and audio as creative references for generation and editing.

Flexible inputs

From an idea to a directed video

Start with the material that communicates your creative intent most clearly.

Text to video
Start with a scene description. Define the subject, action, setting, visual style, camera movement and—where supported—sound.
Image to video
Use a still image as the visual starting point, then direct motion, camera behavior and atmosphere around the details you want to preserve.
Reference-driven video
Combine supported reference media to guide identity, products, movement, framing, style or audio across a more controlled generation.

Model selection

Which Seedance model should you choose?

Choose the model around the job, not only the version number. Start with Seedance 1.0 when you need straightforward visual generation and multi-shot motion. Choose an audio-enabled version for dialogue, ambience or performance. Use newer multimodal models when reference control, editing and more complex scene direction matter most. For every project, confirm the available duration, resolution, input limits and credit cost on Panify before generating.

Responsible creation

Create with permission

Only upload media you own or are authorized to use. Obtain permission before using a person's identity, voice or performance, and avoid prompts that infringe copyrights, trademarks, privacy or publicity rights. Review generated media before publishing it commercially.
